Aurike Quintelier is a 28-year old visual and spatial artist, living and working in Belgium. She has a passion for space, experiment, site-specific research, painting and reading. In 2016 she started an online magazine with writer and friend Ilona Lodewijckx. The magazine publishes empowering, no nonsense stories for anyone who identifies as a woman, but really for anyone between the age of 13-17 who wants to read and see and be inspired. ‘Fille Folle’ turned into a book in 2017 (in Dutch), and gender equality and justice are themes explored in most of her projects.

She says, ‘During this period of quarantine, dreams and nightmare were more intense. Colours were brighter, details were sharper and atmospheres lingered for several days. The environmental changes in the world, femininity in patriarchal societies and anxiety are recurring themes in my work. Charlotte Adigéry’s music inspires me, and with her permission I created this video for her song, Le Froid’.
